Branches Academy Faculty is one of the most qualified for teaching and caring for your child. All staff members are State Licensed Teachers with Degrees, certified in First Aide, CPR, have had KBI background checks, and may be periodically UA screened.

Kimberly Fielding
Academy Founder and Director

Kimberly founded Honey Tree Academy in 2007 in order to provide the highest early childhood educational experience possible to the young children in Kansas, and founded Branches Academy in 2010 to continue her mission with elementary age students. She has been teaching young children in Kansas since 1987. Kimberly received her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Wichita State University in 1989, her Early Childhood Certification from Friends University in 2000, her Second Language Certification from Kansas State University in 2000, and finally her Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction from Wichita State University in 2004. Kimberly currently holds a License/Teaching Certificate in the State of Kansas. Kimberly is a master facilitator, teaches in our classrooms including Spanish instruction, and has many accomplishments to her credit, including:

• Taught and participated on the leadership team in USD 259, the largest school district in KS for 20 years.
Participated in creating the first Dual Language Immersion Program in the state of Kansas 1996;
  Horace Mann Dual Language Magnet – A Blue Ribbon National School of Excellence
• Co-Created and presented an integrated, academically challenging, early childhood, hands on  
  curriculum; ‘It’s all in the Bag’ 1997-2000
• Presented at State Teaching Conference 1997-1998
• Featured in the 2005 Kansas Pediatric Foundation ‘Give a Kid a Book’ campaign
• Who’s Who in American Teachers Award 2005

Ashlae Close
Elementary Educator

Ashlae received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education from Wichita State University in 2010. Ashlae currently holds a Teaching License in Kansas. Ashlae has had experience as a para professional for three years with Wichita Public Schools in grades kindergarten through third grade, was a part time teacher at Honey Tree Academy for three years and has been teaching at Branches since 2010. Ashlae is instrumental in providing whole and small group instruction and differentiation to the children in the academy, assessing the students, documenting their progress, and maintaining student files. Mrs. Close is the teacher in our Pre Kindergarten/Kindergarten classroom.

 

CamilleCamille Hohnbaum
Half Day Kindergarten Teacher

Camille graduated from Kansas State University in 2004 with a degree in Early Childhood Education. Camille has a teaching license for birth through age 5.  She was the director of the East High School Child Development Center for one year.  After that she taught PreK at Kelly Elementary for seven years, then College Hill Elementary for three years.  Mrs Hohnbaum joined Branches Academy for the 2015-16 school year as our Half Day Kindergarten teacher.  Camille is instrumental in providing whole and small group instruction and differentiation to the children in the academy, assessing the students, documenting their progress, and maintaining student files.

Christine Robison
1st Grade Teacher

Christine received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education from the University of Central Missouri in 2010. Christine currently holds a Teaching License. Christine has had experience as a Kindergarten teacher, an Early Childhood Special Education para professional for two years, and was a substitute teacher for four years, all in Missouri.  Christine has been at Honey Tree and Branches Academy since 2012. Christine is instrumental in providing whole and small group instruction and  differentiation to the children in the academy, assessing the students, documenting their progress, and maintaining student files.  Mrs. Robison is our Primary Grades Elementary Teacher at the Academy.  

Karen picKaren Salinas
Elementary Educator and Early Childhood Facilitator

Karen received her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education degree from Wichita State University in 2010.  Karen currently holds a Teaching License in the State of Kansas. Karen has had the opportunity to be preschool teacher for two years, and to substitute for the Wichita Public Schools in grades K-5 for three years.  Karen is instrumental in providing whole and small group instruction and differentiation to the children in the academy, assessing the students, documenting their progress, and providing technological integration into lessons. Mrs. Salinas began with us in 2010, and returned to our staff in 2015 . She is a teacher in our Pre Kindergarten classroom at Branches.

Chloe received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education from Wichita State University in 2010. Chloe currently holds a Teaching License. Chloe has had experience as a preschool and first grade teacher at Goddard Public Schools, Primrose in Colorado and Honey Tree and Branches Academy.  She has been with Honey Tree and Branches Academy since 2011 as both a full time and substitute teacher.  Chloe is instrumental in providing whole and small group instruction and  differentiation to the children in the academy, assessing the students, documenting their progress, and maintaining student files.  Mrs. Stodle is our Upper Grades Elementary Teacher at the Academy and will teach Sign Language after school to students who are interested.  

Holly Wells
Elementary Educator and Early Childhood Facilitator

Holly received her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education degree from Kansas Wesleyan in 2004, and her Master of Science in Instructional Design and Technology from Emporia State University in 2007. Holly currently holds a Teaching License in the State of Kansas. Holly has had the opportunity to teach technology in Middle School and online education classes for grades fourth through eighth for eight years. Holly is instrumental in providing whole and small group instruction and differentiation to the children in the academy, assessing the students, documenting their progress, and providing technological integration into lessons. Mrs. Wells has been with Honey Tree and Branches Academy since 2010 and is a teacher in our 3-5 year old Pre Kindergarten classroom.

Paula Watkins
Office Manager

Paula received her Bachelor Degrees in General Studies and Psychology from Wichita State University in 1991. Paula has been a bank teller and customer service banking manager since 1991. Paula will greet you with a smile when you walk in the door! Miss Paula is in charge of our business accounts, banking, and office needs. She excels in fielding questions, helping with our Kid Check secure check in, and also assists in our classrooms when necessary. Miss Paula has been with us since 2010.

Amanda Allen
Spanish Teacher

Amanda received her Bachelor of Arts in French and Spanish from WSU in 2015 and her Masters in Spanish from WSU in 2017. Mrs. Allen currently holds a Teaching License in the State of Kansas. Amanda has taught both Spanish and English at the university level, but has joined us to teach Spanish at Branches, and our 3-5 year old classroom. Mrs. Allen is instrumental in providing whole and small group instruction and differentiation to the children in the academy, assessing the students, documenting their progress, and providing technological integration into lessons. Mrs. Allen has been with Honey Tree and Branches Academy since 2017.


JodiJodi Torline
Music and Technology Teacher

Jodi attended Fort Hays University 1997 – 2001 in pursuit of her elementary education degree. Mrs. Torline’s Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education will be complete as soon as she does her student teaching. Jodi has had years of previous experience as a preschool teacher and as an Assistant Director. Jodi is instrumental in providing whole and small group instruction, intervention and enrichment strategies to the students in the academy, assessing the students, documenting their progress, and observing socialization development of the students. Mrs. Torline is a teacher in our 3-5 year old classroom and has been with us since 2009. She also teaches Technology at Branches Academy.

Charissa received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education at Tabor College in 2014. Charissa currently holds a Teaching License in the State of Kansas. Charissa has had previous experience as a Sunday School teacher. She is instrumental in providing whole and small group instruction, intervention and enrichment strategies to the students in the academy, assessing the students, documenting their progress, and observing socialization development of the students. Mrs. Mears is a teacher in our 3-5 year old classroom and the keyboarding teacher for our elementary students at Branches Academy. She has been with us since 2014.

Nedra received her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education degree from Wichita State University in 2010. Nedra currently holds a Teaching License in the State of Kansas. Nedra has had the opportunity to be a preschool teacher for two years, and to substitute for the Wichita Public Schools in grades K-5 for two years. Nedra is instrumental in providing whole and small group instruction and differentiation to the children in the academy, assessing the students, documenting their progress, and providing technological integration into lessons. Mrs. Myatt has been here since 2014 . She is a teacher in our 3-5 year old classroom, and facilitates P.E. at Branches Academy.


Courtney Herriage
Art Teacher

Courtney received her Bachelor of Arts from Fort Hays State in 2012. She is finishing her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education. Courtney currently holds a temporary Teaching License in the State of Kansas. Mrs. Herriage has had the opportunity to be Paraeducator for seven years in Goddard. Courtney is instrumental in providing whole and small group instruction and differentiation to the children in the academy, assessing the students, documenting their progress, and providing technological integration into lessons. Mrs. Herriage has been here since 2017 . She is a teacher in our 3-5 year old classroom, and facilitates Art at Branches Academy.
